Handcrafted ergonomic harnesses
'Weightless' playing with enhanced tone stability
Your current sax neck strap or the guitar/bass strap causes discomfort and distracts your focus away from the music? This happened to me, hence I made a harness to solve my own problem playing the bass clarinet, bass, and guitar. After testing and improving it for over two years, I decided to also help others and founded Desakre (check the Story of Desakre to know why the name Desakre is more about musicality than about harnesses).
Currently there are 2 models; one for wind instruments as sax and clarinets, the other one for electric guitar and bass.
- Sax/clarinet harness to solve the problems that neck straps cause. The Desakre harness is beneficial for both heavy as well as for lighter instruments. The harness transfers the weight from your neck to your trouser belt and hips, relieving strain on your neck and shoulders. It also relaxes lateral weight on the thumb as is the case with soprano instruments. It also will enhance tone stability for all horns.
- Guitar/bass harness balances the weight of your instrument over both shoulders to relieve the constant asymmetrical pressure that a traditional strap causes. It also helps to stabilize the instrument and keeps it in the desired position, e.g. anti neck-dive for neck heavy instruments as vintage (or history correct) instruments.
Key Benefits
- Eliminate back, neck and shoulder pain: Weight is carried by your hips in case of the sax/clarinet harness, or balanced over both shoulders eliminating the asymmetric weight over one shoulder in case of the bass/guitar harness,
- Tone stability: Achieve enhanced tone stability and greater freedom of movement simultaneously,
- Relaxed body posture: Enjoy a relaxed, evenly balanced body posture while playing,
- Stay focused for longer sessions: go into 100% focus mode just by the pleasure a stable discomfort-free strap causes,
- Timeless design: Handmade from durable, premium vegetable-tanned leather that nicely shapes to your body over time.
While I want the Desakre harnesses to functionally nail it (my humble self :-)), I also want it to be beautiful, durable, and classic timeless. The idea is not that musicians replace it every 5 years, but that the harness is there to stay as an extension of the personality of your instrument and the way you bond with it.
